RT Software at NAB 2025: New Releases, New Partnerships, and a Packed Stand

Las Vegas, April 2025 — RT Software made a strong showing at NAB 2025, arriving in Las Vegas with one of our most impressive line-ups of new product releases and technology partnerships to date. Visitors to stand SL5506 got hands-on with live demos across the full range of our latest developments — and the feedback was fantastic.
Tactic 8.3: Smarter Sports Telestration
We launched Tactic version 8.3, bringing several significant new features to our leading sports telestration platform. The standout addition was AI Auto Keying, which builds on the substantial AI enhancements already in the product by automatically adjusting to changing light conditions on the field — removing the need for operators to tweak keying levels manually. We also introduced a multilingual user interface, making it easier for users in different countries to learn the system, and added ST2110 uncompressed IP video support, a capability already available in our Swift range and now extended to Tactic.
Octopus Newsroom Integration
NAB was also where we showcased the integration of Swift News with Octopus 12. The Swift News HTML journalist interface now works directly inside Octopus, empowering newsroom journalists to drive on-air graphics using predefined templates — complete with full animated previews of text and graphics within their existing workflow. Visitors to our stand tried the interface for themselves and saw how intuitive it is, with a unified experience that matches what gallery operators see in Swift Live.
Adobe After Effects Import for Swift CG
Creative teams were excited to see our new After Effects import pipeline for Swift CG. The workflow lets designers prepare animations in AE and import the individual layers into Swift CG as nodes for further manipulation before broadcast. The process also supports mark-ups — an object tagged “clock” in AE, for example, automatically generates a real-time clock when imported into the graphics editor, significantly accelerating creative workflows.
Swift Panels: A First Public Showing
NAB marked the debut of Swift Panels, a brand-new addition to our browser-based control ecosystem. Building on the success of Swift Live, Swift Panels gives users a design tool to easily create custom button panels — opening up a world of flexibility and letting operators build layouts tailored to their specific workflows. Swift Panels, Swift Live, and many other products are all part of our next-generation graphics platform, Swift NxT.
Swift NxT: The Full Picture

We took the opportunity at NAB to present the broader vision behind Swift NxT — our fully browser-based platform that integrates graphics editing, playout control, and workflow management into a single tab-based interface. As broadcast businesses increasingly shift to IT-centric infrastructures, offering a scalable, cost-effective browser interface paired with a containerised Kubernetes render engine in the cloud has become central to our strategy. The reaction at NAB confirmed the industry is moving in this direction.
Linux and Cloud Deployment
For customers looking at cloud and media framework deployment, we demonstrated our container and Kubernetes solution for Swift Engine. Conversations on the stand made it clear that demand for cloud-native, Linux-based graphics rendering is growing fast — and we’re ready for it.
Bluefish444 Video Card Support
We were also pleased to announce expanded hardware support with Bluefish444 video cards now available for both Tactic and Swift. Bluefish444 has a strong track record of delivering innovative broadcast hardware, and we’re delighted to offer their SDI cards as an option for our customers.
A Strong NAB
As our Commercial Director, Mike Fredriksen, put it: “This year we surpassed even our own normal high standards for delivering new solutions.” The energy on the stand backed that up — it was one of our best NABs yet.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by SL5506. If you didn’t get a chance to visit or want to continue the conversation, we’d love to hear from you.
