Swift Live and Dataserver: Control Applications for Engineers and Operators
Course Overview
Swift Live is our Control Application for the live transmission of broadcast graphics. Dataserver is our back-end setup and configuration application for Swift Live.
This course is aimed at broadcast engineers, graphics operators, gallery and newsroom staff.
Engineers
- Engineers use Dataserver to configure on-air solutions that meet the estate specifications
- Single, Dual or multiple channel setups
- User profiles, access and privileges
- Network setup and media asset locations
- Session connections to graphics projects
- Administrative control over graphics-to-air activities
Graphics operators and gallery staff
- Graphics operators and gallery staff use Swift Live to Preview and Transmit graphics to air:
- Connect to Sessions to access graphics templates
- Populate graphics templates with new data
- Configure interfaces for fast access
- Acquire Newsroom Runorders
- Preview graphics templates for gallery approval
- Take graphics live-to-air
How this course is structured
- This course is divided into separate tutorials.
- Each tutorial contains a number of topics along with a set of learning objectives.
- The duration of each tutorial varies, but is normally between 3 and 15 minutes.
- This course is based on a linear progression through each tutorial.
- Embedded Vimeo videos are chaptered for fast access and review.
- Text descriptions, documents, and illustrations are used in support of tutorials.

- Available as live, instructor-led remote workshops
- Available onsite as traditional, classroom-based instruction
