RT Software invites you to meet with us on booth: SL5223

“2016 looks to be shaping up to be a defining year for live graphics and video production
…and we’d like to meet you at NAB 2016 to discuss it”

RT Software has always loved graphics and been at the forefront of live graphics since our inception. Back then our focus was delivering industry firsts centred around the quality of live graphics – such as per pixel lighting, particles and physics, custom shader frameworks and so on. Pushing the boundaries of real time graphics possibilities was burnt into our DNA back in the BBC days delivering the very first generation of high quality 3d graphics in award winning flagship news and election programmes.

But the game’s changed and these are exciting times. Quality remains crucial – but IT based solutions, scalability, manageability, utilisation rates have become the buzz words. And RT Software is delivering with a vision and a capability you can hook into now.

So what do we see as the game changers this year?

UHD comes of age – we aren’t just showing it, we are doing it! On air with the graphics at BT Sport, Europe’s first 4k channel. This has led to the addition of 10/12 bit colour support to our core rendering capability so we aren’t just maximising the quality possible on 4k, but paving the way for HDR support and future proofing our clients.

Affordable 4k stitch – its robust, its working and its camera agnostic, meaning you choose the price points. We’ve been out doing tests and demos with some big names both sides of the pond and the use cases range from lower production costs through to capturing entire field of play for performance analysis and telestration.

Virtualisation – Perhaps we should lead with this, it really is a game changer. We have a demo of multiple live channels running on a single PC. If you want to see 8+ channels mixing SDI and VoiP all with their own live graphics then drop by the booth. We have it running live.

IP production its part of the future already, if that’s a permissible oxymoron. We have implemented Newtek’s NDI open protocol for IP production workflow and have examples of channels running on the booth.

Web based control – Imagine any graphics device, anywhere – perhaps one in your playout centre. Imagine taking control of it live. Imagine being able to do that from any studio, from any OB. At any time. Such is the capability of our web based solutions.

Server based hardware – We led the industry with the move to CoS hardware when we adopted the HP z800 series, and we have done it again with the HP Gen 9 DL380. Server based hardware means better management, lower power and improved resilience. Add virtualisation, VoiP and Web Control into the mix and welcome to the future of TV.

So yes, much is happening in our industry and we really do welcome the chance to meet with you at NAB to catch up. Plus of course we also want to keep you up to date with the core products we are delivering today. If any of the following are on your radar then there is much we can discuss:

  •     2d and 3d overlays.
  •     Virtual Studio and Augmented Reality.
  •     Sports analysis and telestration.
  •     Embedded OEM graphics.

Please contact our Commercial Director, Mike Fredriksen on  sales@rtsw.co.uk   if you would like to schedule a formal meeting or just drop by as you trawl the hall. Either way you will be welcomed.
