RT Software supports the control of its Swift Engine renderer by external systems using our API, as part of our strategy for open integration.
Typical applications include:
The API supports everything you would expect, from loading graphics and clips, building running orders, inserting dynamic data and setting up control interfaces. Our WebRTC proxy feed is also available, allowing you to build a complete custom control application.
If you are planning a new project we would recommend that you consider this native API which provides a lower level access to our comprehensive feature set. However, industry standards such as MOS, Sony 9pin serial and GPI are also included within our Swift Engine.
We have also implemented vendor specific protocols such as Grass Valley’s PBAK used in their playout automation.
These are all implemented via an open plug in architecture making it quick and easy to extend functionality or add new protocols as projects demand them.
API control can work alongside our Swift Live browser based control system, allowing the customer to build their ultimate solution, all built around a common, scalable Swift Engine render system.
If you have a project that would benefit from direct API control of our render engine and would like some guidance please get in touch.
With our background in broadcast we understand there is only ever one chance to get things on air right.
But our graphics engine and API is flexible when it comes to aspect ratios and numbers of pixels. We are not locked to traditional broadcast frame sizes.
Here’s an example of our partner ANC using our API to drive the huge video wall on NBC Universal’s Saturday Night Live.
The resolution is an incredible 14400 x 1216!
